Why don't go to your doc for a check-up & see what's going on.

A YEAR ago? You wouldn't have made it this far if you had a yeast infection a year ago - you would have been screaming long before now.
USUALLY a yeast infection is meant to be in your genital area (vagina). There is a condition of having basically "bad yeast" in your stomach - that could last a year - you would have to get tested for that, and it would screw up your digestion. There are new yogurts out, like Activa, which help balance out the yeast, also there's different yogurts with different yeast classifications to help.
But yeast infection, as the term is generally used, means down in your privates, and I doubt you could have gone on for a year with it. If the problem is down there, you should get tested for STDs (sexually transmittable diseases).

I remember when I had my first yeast infection and my mom would not take me to the Dr. because she had been told that you can only get yeast infections from having sex. She thought that I was telling her that I was active! So I told her that I was having pain in my arm, and when she left the room at the Dr was when I told him that I thought I had a yeast infection.
There are many home remedies, Including tea tree oil, yogurt etc, but 'they' always say to have the first one checked out by a Dr. This way when you get the next one, you will know what to look for.

Seeing a Dr. would be your best bet. I wouldn't go inserting creams and suppositories into my vagina without a Dr.'s permission and if you've had it longer than a year, chances are it may be something more serious than just a yeast infection.

If infact you do have a yeast infection being that this is your first one only a gynecologist could prescribe something for you. Tell your DR. that either this is a reccuring problem or that you have had it for a year.

Go to the store and purchase some cream. It should help right away with irritation and itching. I'm prone to them as well and it is normal to get one every now and again due to hormones. I'll show you a link. Also if you feel its not getting better with the cream please go to the doctor because they will prescribe you the "miracle" pill diflucan and that will clear it up literally in 1 day.

Only a doctor can really tell if that's what it is or not. There are over the counter products that may help. Other than that, you can limit eating sugar and eat more plain yogurt. Acidophilus supplements can help too.
