1. Bacteria can be treated with antibioticdrugs, viruses cannot.
2. Bacteria are considered as living organisms, viruses are not.
3. Viruses must have a living host - like a plant or animal - to multiply, while most bacteria can grow on non-living surfaces
4. Viruses are much smaller (10 to 100 times smaller) than bateria.
5. Bacteria have common cellular structures such as cell wall, but viruses have only their genetic materials (DNA or RNA) surrounded by a protective coating of protein, called a capsid.
6. Bacteria could be infected by viruses.
7. Viruses contain only a limited genetic blueprint and they don't have the necessary building tools.
8. Bacteria attack the body like soldiers mounting a pitched battle, viruses are guerrilla fighters. Viruses literally invade human cells and turn the cell's genetic material from its normal function to producing the virus itself.
9. Bacteria have common cellular processes such as cellular respriation, but viruses don't.
10. Bateria require energy, viruses don't.
11. Bacteria play vital roles in cycling nutrients within
ecosystems. Certain bacteria are the only organisms
able to fix atmospheric nitrogen into organic
molecules, a process on which all life depends.

1) Viruses cannot reproduce outside of a host cell. Bacteria can.
2) Viruses do not contain organelles (nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, etc.). Bacteria do. The exception is that prokaryotic bacteria no not have a nucleus.
3) Bacteria have a cell membrane. Viruses do not.
4) Bacteria are living organisms. Viruses are not.
5) Bacteria are classified with scientific names like other organisms (people, for example). Viruses are not.
6) Viruses no not have the means to express their own genetic material. They depend on the machinery of the host cell to do that.
I'm getting a bit repititive, but if you break down #2 into individual organelles, you'll get more than 10 differences.

A Virus is simply an infectious agent that only enters a living organism, (not including the computer kinds of viruses). Bacteria is actually a one celled organism itself and is of the class Schizomycetes. As you probably know they are extremely similar

Bacteria are living, single-celled organisms.
They may be carried by a variety of means: food, water, soil, animals, humans, or insects.
Under favorable conditions, they can reproduce very rapidly.
Some change into a different form, called spores, to protect themselves.
Viruses are the smallest of the microbial contaminants. they are classified as infections.
Virus cannot reproduce in food, once inside a human cell, it will produce more viruses.

viruses are harmful and can cause sickness, but bacteria is 2 types, good and bad, the bad affects things in the body, but not as much as the virus, the good ones help build and protect our bodies.

Well the main diiference is that viruses have no DNA (they have RNA instead) while bacteria do. If that is not enough e-mail me and I'll give you a bit more.
