There are 2 items that will work on this type of stain. 1 is peroxide and 2 is a mixture of vinegar and water. Place one in a spray bottle and clean the area. Do not use both at the same time. Be sure to use only a white towel to blot up the area. This should work, depending on what other methods you have used. Some things actually set the stain instead of cleaning it. If all else fails you will have to have the carpet professionally cleaned, they have cleansers for all types of stains. DO NOT rent a cleaner from the supermarket, they end up usually making matters worse.

Have you tried Oxi Clean? You may still have soap in the carpet, time to take out the shop vac. Get it wet, scrub the water in and vac it up. Keep doing this until there are no more suds. If there's still a stain, take out the oxi clean and scrub it clean and vac it all up! A regular house vac won't get it. My two year old poured out half a bottle of purple body wash and that's how I got it up.
