America is not perfect but we continue to change mostly for the better,although sometimes painfully slow, but as I travel both in this country and in others I often think of just how blessed Americans are. Do we realize this or do we let our differances(uniqueness) devide us? MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

This is a wonderful country, we just need to realize we are all one people instead of defining ourselves as "democrat, republican, liberal, conservative," etc. and start calling ourselves Americans and doing what is best for this country not what the leaders of the various political parties feel is in their best interests.

Great country? We kill more people than any other country or terrorist organisation. Don't get me wrong i love America and most American's, but we have to realise we've done a lot wrong over the last through years and through someone else's eyes we could be seen as well, evil.
It sounds silly, but imagine if you were an Iraqi who fortunaely hadn't been personally affected by Saddam Hussain. America invades, kill's lots of innocent people and in the news it tells you that they are doing it because your country has WMD's, then none are found. Our intentions were good (i hope anyway) but we have severely messed this one up and when we look back in 50 years the last decade will be seen as a time when America was a very bad force in the world (imo).
Anyway merry xmas and i hope the new year brings some much needed change to the situation in Iraq.

The United States is rated the 8th best country, not 1st (that's now Norway) but the last rating was before Bush's development of a gulag was uncovered and then Congress voted to make it legal.

Our diversity and differences is what does make us a country with great potential, now if we could ever get it together and take care of our problems on the home front, proverty, hunger, crime, then we could be a shinning example of how a society works.

I agree, we are great BUT we have the potential to be much greater than we are. I think that its this frustration that we are not striving for our absolute best that makes people angry. I would not live anywhere else because of that wonderful vision of what can be. Happy Holidays to All.
