Say you're worried about something or someone that you have no control over. All you can do is wait to hear what's going on or if this person is alright. How to you get over being worried? Do you sing, draw, watch TV, run around in circles like a lunatic...?

I constantly keep (visualize) that person in my heart and mind and think healthy, happy thoughts about them.
To keep worry at bay, I try to get busy with something, preferably creative (because that nourishes and completely occupies me). But if I have a hard time focusing my thoughts, then I'll do "mindless" tasks like cleaning, ironing, gardening (when the weather's decent; nothing like ripping out weeds to blow off stress and tension!).
And, yeah, although I'm not affiliated with a particular church or religious denomination, I pray. I do believe in the power of prayer.
When you really have no control over the situation, I find it essential to keep as calm and as sane as possible so that when an opportunity does present itself for you to do something, you're 100 percent there to do it.
Good luck!

When I am worried, I think a lot over my problems.I try to find out the following

a) Is it a real problem or imaginary? Is the cause of worry related to fear of failure in any way?

b) Was it in my control to avoid the situation that I am in now?

c) Is there a way that I can pull myself out of the trouble / potential trouble ?

d) Can any one help me to come out the mess?

Many a times, I have found myself that TIME can take of many issues and I need not worry so much for the future /future consequences...

Trust in Lord to take care of you if you can do nothing to prevent the impending bad times.

First realize that worrying is not going to make a bit of difference - give yourself a time limit to worry - say 15 minutes maximum - then leave it alone because there are other things that you CAN do to make a difference in the world for yourself and others and soon you begin to realize that worrying does no good! If you are religious then pray and leave it up to God and don't return to remind Him of your request He does not have short term memory problems!

Don't take advice from me. i have a complete meltdown, an apocalyptic, psychotic break with reality. Tears, storms of emotion, and vicious, uncontrolled rage is a typical reaction for me.
But here's what you wanna hear:
soothing music
chocolate
hot bath

I usually play around with my nails, biting them, pushing back my cuticles, "examining" them for the tiniest flaws, ect... Bad habit!!
I try to tell myself that I can't change what happens, and I'll cross the bridge about whatever I'm worrying about when I come to it. Try to remember that it's all in God's plan and he won't bear anything on you that he knows you can't handle!! :)
