AT LAST!!!!!!!!!! someone on this site who feels the way I do about names!!!!!!!! frankly I am appalled by all this 'let's try to outdo and be cuter and more complicated in the names we select for our baby" baloney...as I always say, there are 2 things to consider with all these weird new names; the spelling, and if its at all unusual, the fact that the poor child will be spellinghis/her name for everyone his/her whole life long!! and the nicknames that will inevitably take place!!!!!!!!! THINK, people...so you and I are the only sane ones, LOL...& I like your point that these traditional names are good for an adult, too!!...

Yes I do. Names such as Victoria, Eva, Anna sounds like royalty names. You rarely hear baby names like these now a days.

I did both.. traditional name with a more creative middle name so the child can choose when they are older if they want to be common or unusual.
I especially love names like Emily (not Emaleigh), Catherine or Rose. If my third son would have been a girl, his name was going to be Catherine Rose (family names).

I'm very partial to traditional names. I hope to have children in the future with names like "Kathryn," "William," "Marshall," and the like.
The classy names you listed are good all around. The names of the 1890-1920 generation are a bit rough - "Maude" and "Ethel" are good examples.
The ones that are going out of style are the ones of the generation born in the 1960s. "Linda," "Michelle," "Lisa," and "Brian" are names I haven't seen in babies... ever.
I'm also very into traditional Irish names. Probably because my first, middle and last names are very Irish. You don't even need to hit my last name after reading "Sean Patrick" to know that Irish is my thing.

Yes, absolutely. I love traditional names better than some of the crap I hear some poor kids being called nowadays.

I like to find a happy medium, personally. Easy to spell names that are uncommon...but not so far-fetched that they make a teacher's eyes bug out when she goes to try to write it on the board.
My own name is very traditional (Helen Bernice) as is my boyfriend's (Andrew Michael) and all of his family. It's nice to find someone who wants to keep the old names alive right along side with the people who want new and "improved" names and spellings.

Tried and true.....can't go wrong there. These poor children growing up with the rest of the world laughing as they walk away. APPLE? COCO? PHINIUS? HAZEL? SURI? yeah good thing their parents have loads of cash, the hurt can be washed away in a private school with all the other kids named stupid stuff.

I like them too.. My daughter = Ava
Son= Trey.. because he is the third
But i also like a couple of the more newer names too.. I hate the whole complicated spelling...
For instance. Jocelynn... it can be spelled very different ways... my SIL... spelled it this way!!-------( JACEALYNNE)... WTH? Or like Brandy.. is now turning into Brayndyee... and Jacob is turning into Jaycup.. wierd spellings like that just make you look ignorant.. not creative.
