We sang Up on the House Top in kindergarden. It's tradition. They still sing it today, 18 years later!

I have a true story to tell you. When I was in the 3rd grade, we had a Christmas pageant in the evening. I guess we were practicing for a month or so. During the time we were going from our class to the auditorium, my teacher said to me "Peter, please don't sing". I thought it was funny then and I think it is funny now. By the way, the teacher died a month later- I think it was from a medical condition. The principal came into the class after she died and told us to all sit down. Then he had a nervous breakdown and cried. He told us that she had died. I really did not care and when we lined up for recess, I remember quietly giggling with a couple of other kids. Not to be mean- and I did not even instigate it. This was probably about 1967 or 8.
