on a manual mx6 is it normal for the stick to move side to side when in gear

but how do i fix that problem with the shifter on the mx6?

You will not like my answer... It is not normal for the shifter to move side to side while in gear. You will need new shifter bushings which are rubber or polyurethane (not sure on the spelling). These bushings are sort of like washers that go onto bolts, same principle. You may also need a new shifter linkage if yours is rotted out or deteriorating. The shifter linkage is basically 2 metal rods that run under the car and connect your shifter to the transmission. On my car they were rusted out, that happens in the northeast.

I have a 94 and it does this. It hasn't caused any problems for me yet

It shouldn't be. If the car's in gear the shifter should stay in place.

If you bought the HID bulbs with out the HID ballast this is to be expected. It says it is plug and play, but then there is some fine print. I suggest you use the tech help number.

yea on my 94 they do that howver they havnt caused a big problem yet so im gonna ignore it
