A nutritionist friend of mine says yes, night vision can be improved because of the vitamin A content, but there is an optimum amount of vitamin A for the body. If you are deficient in vitamin A then carrots will help bring that level up to normal, and night vision will improve as a consequence. If you already eat a healthy diet and your vitamin A is optimum - ie you take the recommended daily allowance (RDA) then no amount of carrot can improve your eyesight - in fact you can suffer from an overdose of vitamin A. A few years ago a man died from eating too many carrots! - vitamin A overdose.

The natural vitamins in carrots help your eyes and skin stay healthy; they don't 'improve' your vision per say.

yes, they have beta carotene but the question came about because in the war, we had developed radar and therefore this was used against German planes. However, to protect the secrecy of radar which was unknown, the story was put about that English pilots ate lots of carrot which accounted for their ability to see in the dark. The Germans thus never suspected the existence of radar.
This is a true fact and, coincidentally, carrots are good for your eyes but the origins of this story go back sixty years to the war.

Most people believe that once they are diagnosed with some vision problem and start wearing eye glasses or contact lenses to correct them, they will have to do so for life in order to see better. Those who want a permanent solution to improve eyesight typically resort to Lasik or other corrective eye surgeries. But you you can also improve your vision without surgery and can see perfectly well without using eyeglasses or contact lenses. You can check here to know how https://tr.im/3e16f

Actually carrots are good for your eyes, but not for the reasons most people think. They're good simply because they're orange.
On the same note, red wine is good for you simply because it's red, so red grape juice does as much good.
Unfortunately, although eating carrots might slow down vision loss, eating more won't make it get better.

Yes!
Beta-carotene helps to protect vision, especially night vision. After beta-carotene is converted to vitamin A in the liver, it travels to the retina where it is transformed into rhodopsin, a purple pigment that is necessary for night-vision. Plus beta-carotene's powerful antioxidant actions help provide protection against macular degeneration and the development of senile cataracts, the leading cause of blindness in the elderly.

this is half true.
the old wives tale actually has some meaning. carrots are good for your eyes if your near sided (meaning if you can't see far away), but eating 100 carrots everyday doesnt mean you can get rid of your glasses at all.
they work a tiny tiny tiny bunch after about 200 carrots...plus heres something thats not a tale: carrots can turn ur skin orange!
