Goodnight Saigon by Billy Joel
Just out of high school I went to a military college because I wanted to commission in the Army. (didn't work out but whatever)
Everynight when they put us to bed (after putting us through hell) during Frog Week (which is basically the same as Hell Week at the Citadel).
The song talks about the soliders of the Vietnam war. How the
signed up together, went through basic together, and then were sent to Vietnam together. And together they watch as the people they're serving with are getting killed. The chorus says "We'll all go down together" and that was drilled into our heads. Because if any of us screwed up, we all screwed up and well all were punished.
During the spring semester of my freshman year 3 of my Froggie Buddies were in a car accident. One of them was killed and the other two were banged up pretty bad. They held a ceremony for Tom (the one who died) and they played that song. On the one year anniversary they played it again for the whole school to hear after playing taps. All of my Froggie Buddies, and the upperclassmen in the same company as we were, stood out on the roof of the dorm while it played in rememberance of Tom. I don't know if they did it following year because I had left the school by that time. But everytime I hear that song it brings back bittersweet memories.

i agree with white houses by vanessa carlton.. its not like the same thing happened to me, but all the feeling just sound so similar. its also not a really sad song, but a song of finding yourself through mistakes.

By ludacris feat. Mary J Blige. "Runaway Love". It doesn't relate to me but it relates to other girls around the world. I almost cried when I saw the music video. Heres the video and the lyrics...
