My baby has been dropped and fully engaged at just about station 5 since aruond 33 weeks... His head is through my pelvic opening..

Did anyone else go through this? Did you go into labor before your due date? (I have a ton of contractions all the time, and have started effacing).

Also, I cant help but wonder if the poor guy's face and head's going to be all mooshed and cone shaped from being stuck in my pelvis for so long... Any experiences from you guys?

lol. Waiting is the hardest part....

I dont think that nurse knows what she's talking about. My doctors went nuts when he dropped at 33 weeks, and all the sites i've checked, and all the books i've checked say that especially if its your first baby, lightening, or dropping doesnt occur until week 36 or after. And thats the same thing my midwives told me. That it was so uncommon for him to be dropped, AND fully engaged so many weeks ahead of schedule.

I even googled it a little more, and learned that until about 30 weeks babies are usually still upright, or sideways in the womb, not even head down or getting ready to move into the pelvis at 28 weeks.

lol. Means nothing to her, but aparently to everyone else at my doctors it means something, and to most medical reference sites.

My daughter was completely dropped and engaged by 36 1/2 weeks. I had her at 38w/6d and my labor was very quick once my water broke because of this.
My daughters face wasnt mushed up, her nose was kinda flat but by the time we left the hospital it was normal....and her head was perfectly shaped!

Oh my gosh, I had 28 hours of labor with my son with my daughter I had to have a C-section with her. The cord was wrapped around her throat three times and that doctor had her out in 30 seconds and saved her life! It was a true miracle! I will owe that doctor the life of my child forever.

He or she will not be mooshed, lol, my son looked like a cone head for two days but he grew out of it.
