When you take a hot shower a lot of water is put into the air. This extra mositure can collect or condense on cool surfaces. The whole room is cool compared to the hot air and water in the air. It condense on most of the surfaces in the bath room and that is why you have to clean them to keep mold from forming. The mirror is just an easy place to see the condenstation. It is really all over the room.

The MIRROR in the bathroom usually FOGS due to the temperature of the Shower or Bath increasing the Moisture Content and the Temperature in that Room!

The Moisture CONDENSES on the Colder object, i.e. THE MIRROR!

You can prevent fogging by simply taking some SOAP, and smearing it on the Mirror! Then wipe off all you can get off with a towell!

Try it, and see!

Thanks, RR

condensation. the mirror is cold, the air is hot. the air condenses on the mirror and turns from water vapor to water b/c the hot air can hold more water than the cold surface can. so when the hot air hits the cold mirror the water can no longer remain a vapor and has to turn back in to its liquid form.

The steam from the hot water has no where to go so gets on the mirror. Use a fan while you shower and your mirror should be fine.
