This year we bought a fryer, marinated the turkey with an injectable marinade, and fried it for Thanksgiving. We really liked it so we are doing it again for Christmas, and baking the ham. In past years, I have baked the turkey in a roaster and it was great too. The good thing about roasting the turkey is you have turkey broth and pieces of turkey for stuffing.

For years we just had it stuffed and baked in the oven and then a few years ago we did the fry-ed turkey for a few years, I love it both ways and this year we are going to smoke it in a pig roaster that my nephew and his friend made. I does a great turkey. We tried it out a few weeks ago. We did a whole batch of meats. Turkey , chickens, and fish. I can't wait for Christmas as we are have the smoked turkey and smoked ham. Hope everyone enjoys there Christmas!!!

I roast mine in a roaster breast side down to keep my oven clear for all the other delicious things. My mom said, "You roast it upside-down?" I replied, "No. If you think about the turkey, its actually right-side-up!" :-D

Roast, with a marinade of quark, butter and herbs packed under the skin. The pigs in blamkets and stuffing balls will be cooked separately.
