One of ours is on Christmas Eve we have a candle light memory service at midnight. We light a candle for each loved that has passed on. We use luminary bags or small gift bags with cat litter or sand 1/2 filled and long burning emergency candles. They usually burn outside all night. It is a very emotional time but healing also and lets us remember those we miss and cry together we always feel a sense of Peace afterwards. As we light each candle the one lighting says something about the person the candle is for, then if anyone else has anything to saythey do. We have been doing this for the past 12 years Bless you all may you have Peace in your heart and mind this Holiday season This year is especially hard for us as I lost a child 12/08/05 and am glad we have this service. IT was very rough last year but we felt better and then I gave my other children a gift from their Angel sister

I'm so sorry for your loss! I couldn't imagine losing one of my kids....I lost a very dear friend who was like a brother to me in July...and I still can't even look at his pictures without crying. I will try your suggestion this year..Thanks so much for sharing!

I haven't lost a loved one, but I have lost the courage to tell someone I like that I like them. It is not a big deal I know, but the disclosure of this could ruin my reputation.
