Because there is no truth or logic in liberalism. If they were interested in either, they would become conservative the next day.
Racist, greedy, provincial, isolationist, facist, whatever. They spout these things off every time they lose an argument. Losing an argument makes them madder than a day without lattes. They want to make you as mad as they are. It used to be that being called any of those things would put the conservative on the defensive. Those days are over, as repetition made the terms lose the shock value.

Unfortunately, partisanship is often blind to unbiased and neutral replies. What matters to partisans is "winning" the debate. It doesn't matter if tactics are ethical or not, since the wordage and propaganda are more important than actual truth (for if everyone did know the honest truth about "business as usual" politics, few people could, and would, tolerate it for long).
Ethics in politics rarely exist. So don't expect any partisan, on the Left or Right, to debate without an ad hominem -- it's par on course. :(

Conservatives often don't even wait for the debate to start before accusing liberals of being stupid, uninformed and finally pinkos--in fact such comments often make up the entire body of Conservative "debate". So what's the difference?

Probably because they get frustrated. No matter how many facts, how many truths, how much proof you present a Conservative/Republican, they will not see the light. No matter how bad a Liberal wins in a debate, the Conservative actually thinks he/she won the debate. It gets frustrating.
p.s. how do you have a "real debate" when you ask moronic questions like "why do liberals support terrorists". they don't. period. end of "real debate".

Provide details please.
Your question is merely a statement of your opinion without details, sources etc.
If you are talking about here on Y!A then obviously you are wearing blinders as I see many one sided questions starting off with "Why do liberals..." or "Why do conservatives (or neocons)... and end up name calling all those that the questioner does not agree with. Like all of your silly political questions. But I guess you need the points!
