As a business consultant yes. With experience in conflict resolution I can be come participant observer and then over an assessment review , after the situational review has ended. You basically do just has you said...step outside yourself, and your belief system and objectively interpret the psycho- social dynamics...the assessment is usually followed by a recommendations statement .
