Sounds like you need to get your septic system professionally emptied and cleaned. Follow their recommendations to keeping the system working properly. To remove the odor from the house. One quick easy tip is to put vinegar in shallow dishes in the areas that are smelly. You will have a hint of vinegar smell, but it does work very well.

LMAO.. sorry to laugh but I've never heard of a septic system making your house smell unless there's a problem. I grew up in the country and of course had a septic tank. Unless the tank is getting full or is backing up there won't be a smell. If you truely believe it's the septic, like it smells well like crap, LOL call someone to come check it and make sure everything is ok. Is your house wood? Lot's of times wood houses, especially older ones have kind of a musty smell. Nothing you can do about that. My mom always lit candles. We had a wood house LMAO but then our house would smell like old musty vanilla or her favorite musty apple cinnamon! LOL good luck but it would make it easier to answer if you could describe the smell. LMAO as gross as that sounds!

You may have to pour a special chemical into your septic system. Try pouring bleach down your drains.

It sounds like the bacteria in the system aren't doing their job, Try putting some dry yeast through your toilet, and see if that helps. The bacteria in the yeast should start working on the problem.

Might want to be sure the floorboards under flooring near toilet or tub is clear of mold/mildew too.
