They are different forms of existence. Mass exists having as its basis that of physical time, with each atom being an entity only unto itself. Life is a form of existence given by God at time of conception that shall exist forever, but is encapsulated within a mass that is destined to be destroyed in time. Disturb the capsule sufficiently and the life escapes, leaving the mass behind.

I think you are asking why we are so fragile compared to our environment. Insects can be dropped several feet and walk away, so it seems we are more fragile. But think of how well we are held together. Many things hit us and don't penetrate.
The larger something is, the more structure it needs to be held together. Pick up a toy truck by the bumper and then try to have a crane pick up a real truck by the bumper.
Also much of our environment is more fragile than we are. Air is matter and it moves out of our way easily. We can easily tear a leaf. The objects that are stronger than we are can more easily hurt us so we seem vulnerable to mass.

Actually the mass and the life are related according to Einstein theory of relativity. E= mc2 remeber?

The life is just another state of the mass (matter) and is not more or less fragile.

It is just a process of interchange of energy. Life doesnt disapear .. just is transforming into another shape.

We have moved mountains, turned lakes into deserts, our surrounding masses are more fragile than us, hey what about rain forests! Get a chain saw and what do you get, rain desert.
