Having watched the interview he gave with Jonathan Ross last night, he said that he was in a coma for two weeks, yet if the papers were believed then he was up and walking about after 48 hours.

And the papers never exaggerate to sell more copies do they?

Newspapers always lie only they use phrases like 'an insider said' so that they can distance themselves from their big fat fibs.

I saw Johnathan Ross's show last night. I thought Richard Hammond's interview made for quite uncomfortable viewing. He's obviously still very nervous and a bit uncertain about himself and what happened so I agree with whoever said it was a little ill advised to be putting himself through that level of pressure so soon.

Take notice of what Hamster says - the man is not a liar.

I am speaking from personal experience because, many years ago, my father was unconcious for 60 days after an accident and became a changed man. He could never remember the accident that made him the way he was.

Do not believe all you read in newspapers.

As a former journalist myself, I know how the truth can be twisted.

Not sure about that. I didnt watch the J Ross show last nite and I don´t remember the newspapers coverage saying he was up and walking after 48hrs! I am sure they said he was "stable" for ages and then after a while that he was walking again (round about the time Jeremy Clarkson visited him),

He said he couldn't remember what happened during the aftermath because of post traumatic amnesia. It doesn't mean he was in a coma, just that he can't recall those two weeks very well. HTH : )

He wasn't up & walking - he was sitting up & TALKING - that's the difference. He said a few words to Jeremy while still in bed.
