Hello jena
U seem to be in love with someone u met recently as u mentioned in ur earlier post that i answered a cpl of days back. Good.
Well the quote is true in a sense and absolutely false in another sense. let me try to explain my view point on the qoute. Love is a feeling, an experience, a sensation, a realisation and - u can define it so many ways- that is unique in itself. when you r in love, u savour, enjoy, cherish, relish the feeling and want it to remain like that for ever. So who would say one should not experience this heavenly experience? so to say that its good to be in love is absolutely true. a person who has not experienced it, has missed so much in life. Now let me come to the lost part of it. suppose your love does not reach its culmination and u can not live for ever with ur loved one. Does it mean that what u experienced when it was there, is no more with u? has anyone or can anyway take it away from you? So in my view love is never lost, though the object of love might go away from you. Your unique experience of love will always remain with u.
Of course it does hurt when the object ( i am sorry to use this word for want of a better word in my vocublary) of ur love is no more with u. Its a real deep seated pain and only a person who has lost some loved one some how can realise it. But does anyone want to forget the love on account of this pain? ask anyoen who has been through it and each one of them would say he/she will never forget those moments and those feelings. So even the pain of loss of love is sweet dear lady.
Hence to not to love due to fear of losing it just denying oneself the heavenly experience oflove. would u recommend to anyone to not enjoy the feeling of love on account of this pain, howsoever deep the pain might be? therefore i would say without any doubt do enjoy this experience if u get the chance. Forget about what people say about love bringing pain and all. I will any day accept that pain for even a short spell of the heavenly bliss.
God bless u lady.

Hold it true, whate"er befall,
I feel it, when I sorrow most,
"Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

.....and in the unlikely event that I ever meet up with Alfred I'm going to give him a swift kick in the crotch.(excuse this part, just wanted to get it out of my system)

Is this how you feel? These are feelings of unrequited love, truly painful for the one who loved.

No, I don't entirely believe in this "Cliche" as I've always believed that even if I have loved and lost love will finally find me no matter what. Maybe I'm just a romantic idiot at heart, but that's my belief.

"Love is the perfect imperfection" (This is not Tennyson's, this is my quote, "Cliche")

Well, I hope this brought a smile to your face at least.

BTW I have a dilemma? Tomorrow I'm going for midnight mass. Should I drink white wine or red? Should I drink it before mass or after, or during......lol. Just kidding, I don't drink. Bye.

You knoe who made that quote? A woman in a mental hospital. Oh yes. So`clearly we wanna emulate her.

Anyway, I used to think this was bs, just a way for someone to feel better after their heart's been broken. But my heart was torn to smithereens 6 years ago. I can now say w/o a doubt that I am glad it happened. At the time, I cursed the day I met him, but now I know exactl the type of guy to avoid. And I now forget all the bad times I'd had and just remember the good times. So I think it all depends on timing.

Certainly the former. it is better to have loved and unfortunately lost for whatever reason than never to have loved at all. Action is always better than inaction, even if the reaction to the action could sometimes be contra. That remote possibility is not reason enough not to act at all. Any one who loves does so with a positive frame of mind that it is going to be successful and eternal. Should it fail for some reason it is an accident. Thinking that an air plane COULD meet with an accident one does not refrain from travelling by air at all. Thinking that we are sure to die we do not fail to live our life. We live our life thinking we are immortal. Action is in our hands. Let us act. Inaction is no solution in stark realities. We try our best to make a success of every venture of ours. However, not all turn out to be successes. Some succeed initially. Some not at all.some eternally. However, thinking that it could fail to opt for inaction is negative thinking and downright pessimism and therefore shunned.
the failure must spur you on to find someone who will help you to regain the faith in love and human relationship and turn your failure into a success.after all failure is the stepping stone to success.

Yes..because without ever experiencing love (which you wouldn't if you were THAT cautious about getting hurt) then what good is life? What have you gained if you have never lost? How would you know what love tastes like? Where would be the memories of him? Who would you have to remember?

I do believe that it is true. It goes hand in hand with my favorite saying, "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." If you loved and lost, then you should go to someone to help you get over that person. That will help you personally, and maybe you will be ready to let some special person into your heart again.

For me personally I believe it. I do believe that there are others who cannot have something so wonderful stripped from them without constantly longing to go back into their past again. I have seen people like that throughout my life and for them I think it would have been better to never have known what they are missing because they are too caught up in the past to get on with their future.

I definatly do because if you find someone you like why not be with them. I know it is a shallow hard world and people aren't together long but still is it better to be happy and experience new things that will make you smarter in the future.
