I think that true conservatives love the Constitution, as do true liberals.

The nutjobs like Anne Coulter, Michelle Mulkin (on the left AND the right) etc don't mind giving up civil rights because they always figure it's someone else's rights that are going to disappear, not theirs--and they love the idea of some defenseless minority getting screwed over by the government.

Conservatives do not hate the Constitution. It is the Neo-Cons, not the Conservatives that are trying to create a Nazi state, "to protect us from terrorism".

The Neo-Cons are working to destroy the Fourth Amendment (against unreasonable search) claiming that it is necessary to snoop into the personal finances and affairs of the American citizens. They are undermining the Fifth Amendment when they call for secret trials, inability to face your accuser, the right to torture. All of this is to be used on "terrorists", we are assured. Well, who are the terrorists? People opposed to abortion, homosexual "rights", people opposed to illegal immigration?

No, it is not the Conservatives who oppose the Constitution. And don't forget the Liberals who have been working for decades to dismantle the Second Amendment (the Right to Keep and Bear Arms). Guns are too dangerous a thing to give a monopoly to the politicians.

Neither conservatives nor liberals seem to care much for the constitution.

Examples:
Spying on Americans, phone and internet.
Use of no knock warrants, recently ended up in the murder of
a 92 year old Atlanta woman.
Gun Control. The misguided belief that more gun control will
disarm criminals, when instead it disarms law abiding
citizens.

Freedom means freedom, settle for nothing less.

I never heard of a conservative who hated the constitution. Do you have any factual evidence of your claim? If you do post it, and I'll get back to you, otherwise you're just spouting hatred.
It is liberal socialists who I see as hating the constitution, like free speech. A few days ago, Columbia University has an Assembly where the Minutemen were invited to speak, and the crowd of liberal students screamed, raised banners, taunted the guests, and about 40 of them rushed the stage, causing the speakers to fear for their safety, they also called some of the speakers racial epithets, like the N word, and funnily, called the Minutemen racist. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, does it?

I think you have it the wrong way. The constitution offers guidelines that in my opinion are divinely inspired. It also offers us structure in what is becoming an increasingly unstructured society. Most conservatives want to maintain this structure and traditional values. I'm afraid it's the liberals that want to tear down the constitution in order to appease there own desires.

They are not against the Constitution. They just don't place a higher value on it than the welfare of this beautiful country.
If this country is ever destroyed( w/ the help of people who think like you) then that Constitution will become a lonely piece of paper flapping in the wind.

Most conservatives actually support the Constitution, as do most liberals. Such statements as yours do little to promote understanding or harmony in America, and attempt to only divide us.

The only rights we've lost are the ones the Democrat Judges have taken away.
The Democrat Congress has promised to take away some of our paycheck.

True conservatives do not hate the constitution.

However, we are presently saddled with psuedo conservatives in this government whose motivation is totally fear based. Their fear leads them to "protective" measures that tend to destroy our beloved constitutional freedoms.

you mean the liberal's "living breathing" constitution or the real constitution?

conservatives hate the way the liberals are redefining the constitution to fit to the liberal agenda. its not a living breathing document and not meant for interpretation.
