Tough question. I wonder why you ask? Is this you?
Anyway, I do not have family and have not had them since age 16 when they dies. Even when they were alive, our house was hudely devoid of love, and instead, was replaced with total dysfunction. I'm much older now. Thankfully, I do have wonderful friends that have filled that void. I've also worked on myself for years to overcome those hurts.
I just built my first house after living in a 450 sq ft condo for 18 years. It is a dream come true for someone that never even had a kitchen table or a washer & dryer.
I'm also a single mom without any financial assistance or others to help ease the burden of care and time needed.
However, all of that said, my life is the best it has ever been. I spent so many years where I was not a very happy person. There have been many losses in my life and I guess I would look at other "presumably happy" families and feel as though I was always on the outside looking in. It was a sad feeling.
I guess we are given our walk in life for a reason. We may question it, argue about it, and even hate it. Yet, what is the use in hating it? There is joy to be found in anything, but no event (like Christmas, etc) will bring it to you. It's hard-trust me I know to feel the meaning of such holidays when you feel somewhat displaced.
Finally, I guess I have never wanted to lose the hope of a better future. If you lose hope, you have lost everything indeed. I can now share my joy with my son and see that he too understands that joy must come from within. Try not to get consumed in the "marketing" aspect of Christmas either. Everything that glitters is not always golden.
I hope you can find your joy. It's there, believe me it is. No one is a better example of that then my own life. Never lose your hope.

Praise the Lord, I've never been homeless. But I wanted to say that the Christmas tradition is the same to all. It's the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That doesn't hold limitations to only those with homes and cars. After all, Christ was born in a lowly stable.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!

This is a tough one to field, but here is the way I see it. As long as you have life you have options. You have a chance to be happy. You have a chance to make friends, make yourself and others happy. Christmas tends to bring out good things in some people. I have been in a place without friends and family. I ended up making new friends and made the best of what I had. It was a life changing experience. Christmas is about celebrating life as much as it is about celebrating religion. Good luck friend.

it somewhat is totally unhappy, and that's the reason I continuously undertake stray cats off the line or from shelters. The link that Gretchen P provided is an remarkable one. in basic terms via clicking in this information superhighway web site as quickly as an afternoon, foodstuff is donated to rescue animals. that's in basic terms one small way wherein we are able to all do something to help animals in choose for.
