Typically the most expensive finish on a guitar is a three-tone sunburst flamed or quilted maple. Good luck.

Like Guns and Roses girl says, it all depends on the guitar, model, make etc.
I have two sunburst Fender Telecasters and they were both different prices because one is a Highway 1 and the other a Nashville Deluxe.
Some makes of guitars do charge extra for certain colours. It is a matter of checking around.

The Paint finish on guitar, solid or primary colours, are usually of the same quality or price. Unusual colour combinations or designs may increase the overall price of a guitar at the stage of manufacturing..especially custom spray jobs. More important than what it looks like..it's what you can do with it that will really impress!!

A simple solid color has little to no bearing on the price of the guitar. It's all in the brand or quality of the instrument.
And, by the way, there are some good lower-priced instruments out there; you just have to try them out and see how easily and truely they finger.
