secondary school= high school?

You will need to complete college and earn necessary credits in classes required for medical school. Then you take the MCATs and apply to med school. Med school is 4 yrs....so you are already up to 7 years (assuming you can accelerate your undergrad degree by a year or so). Residency is 3 yrs minimum and I would think you would pick one of those so you can begin your own practice (or join a group).

It's never too late to start...you should just educate yourself about what is involved and look ahead at some of the steps. Maybe you can find another career in the health care field that is just as satisfying for you. Maybe not.

Not at all but bear in mind that depending on where you do it you will have 6-8 years of study followed by 3-5 years of residency (the hours are long and you're the bottom of the food chain) before you start earning any real money. If you really want to do it and you have the grades then go for it. I would suggest that you maybe try to do some volunteer work or possibly an internship in the field if you can. It may be seen favorably by colleges that you have made some attempt to learn about the profession. Good luck!

Not too old, but you need to face the reality. If you can compete at that level, go for it.
