If I don't get a solution to this AIM IM 6 will be removed.

Click on Setup then Preferences then go Sign On/Off and uncheck the box.

Go to preferences/properties and uncheck a box wich makes AIM TODAY appear. You may also want to uncheck the box that prevents AIM from starting automatically when you log on to your computer.

Did around in the Preferences. There is a checkbox to turn it off.

i suspect you have a setting turned on in your preferences telling it to run automatically upon startup. just find it and turn it off.
