With the way the holiday falls this year there is much confusion in regards to when we are supposed to attend church. As a Roman Catholic my church has listed on the mass schedule that there are 3 masses in the moring on the 24th. They are listed as "4th Sunday of Advent". Below that there is a list of "CHRISTMAS EVE VIGIL" later in the day with 2 other masses scheduled then of course Chrtistmas day Masses. We go to Church every week, and typically attend the Christmas Eve vigil. However, don't we technically have to attend church twice tomorrow then? I know going on Christmas Eve to a vigil is like going Chiristmas eve, but does going to a Christmas eve vigil tomorrow count the weekly obligations?

Sunday is a normal day of obligation however, most Catholic churches also have a Saturday evening service for the sabbath. So, they could go to church Saturday night instead of Sunday morning.

Christmas is a Holy day of obligation. They have a choice of going to Christmas eve mass on Sunday (Midnight mass is cool) or they can go to church Monday morning.
