everyone is going to have a diff. answer for that because evryone starts at a dif.. time but when i was 11 i was aloud to where a little but i think that make-up should always look natural unless its like when ur going out at night or a situation like that but just for an everyday look it should be to lighten up your face a bit and look pretty, but natural.
hope this helps and happy holidays!

My personal opinion is: NO. At 11 yrs old you are still a kid, and there are just too many perverts out there these days. Now, I'm not saying I want my kid to live like a nun, so possibly some light lip gloss, VERY light eye shadow... But that's my limit right there. When I was growing up and was that age, I too wanted to wear makeup and begged my mom for mascara. She said, "ok you can wear it. I'll get you some from the store today." She came home with that clear mascara, and I was (for awhile) happily deceived that I looked different and prettier. LoL. My mom's ploy worked! At 11 you should be playing with dolls and having sleepevers ~ not worrying about boys. They have the rest of their lives to do that. So, my final answer is No, 11 yr olds do NOT need to wear makeup!!

It depends on the child..I am 11 (12 this month) and I wear foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, highlight, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. Make sure the child knows how to apply the makeup subtly and try not to make them look older. I am naturally spotty and my skin is uneven and blotchy so all of this I feel is necessary and I feel comfortable wearing it and my parents allow it. If my Makeup is too cakey or extreme my mum will make me take some off. At my school I wear some foundation, powder and mascara because my school only allows subtle makeup. I believe that any child who is in secondary or high school should be allowed but a primary school child should have to tone down the makeup because they are quite young.
Remember that makeup is used to enhance your beauty..I hope this helps

True, everyone is going to have a different viewpoint. I don't have any kids, but if I had a daughter, I probably will not let her wear makeup until she's 15 or 16 and even then I would advise her proper skin care first. I would "school" her on the importance of healthy skin and nutrition and once she has that under her belt and still wants to wear makeup then so be it. You would want your daughter to understand the proper use of cosmetics so that she won't have any skin problems when she's older due to improper use and negligence skin care routines when she was younger.

Well, if you emphasize that less is more and what makeup is for is to play up the best features, and approach it as an art form rather than a "grown-up" thing, you'll have better luck. Get a few beauty books (not magazines, but true instructive books) and do it well.

That is up to the parents. Some allow it, others don't.
I think at that age I let my daughter wear lightly colored lipgloss out in public.
At home.....she's been doin the clown look since age 2, LOL.
But now at 21 she's had so much experience "playing" with makeup at home, that she does hers very well, like a professional makeup artist.
The ones that usually look like clowns once their allowed to wear makeup in public are the ones that weren't allowed to even try it at home before that.

I wouldn't let my 11 year old wear make-up but if she likes it she can wear small stuff. Maybe a light lipgloss or a pink blush. Just play make-up not heavy foundation. Smackers in drugstores has tons of stuff for small girls that like make-up.

I'd let them use as much makeup as they wanted to play dress up, or something, but going out, or to school, I'd say all they need is lip gloss or lip balm. 11 year olds are too young to wear heavy duty makeup like foundation, blush, and eyeliner.

Not alot maybe like some light eye shadow and clear shiny lip gloss.. As they get older they can add mascara and eyeliner and all the goodies but I wouldn't say all that other stuff just yet.

well, It's better not to. When your younger your skin is still "In it's process of becoming more woman-like" I'm older than you and I have never worn make-up for a regular day. I will like to take a picture, but then immediately take it off.
