Impromptu ones..!!
Like a birth (of anything) or good fortune (not necessarily winning the lottery) or an engagement.
Any day can be a celebration.

I like Christmas very much.
I also like the Hindu festival of Diwali. It is quite close the the Chinese New Year festival in its length and quality, but it originates from a different reason.
I also think the way Hindus meditate, with the altar full of pictures of God, the flowers, the incense, and the various things set out to remind one of origins, and the songs sung... to me, that is a festival, but it is an everyday thing... and that is why I like Hinduism: it is full of fluff and guff ...and after years of trying to be a Christian with all the lack of things to do for oneself, and the very saddest of stories - although the story of Krishna in the Hindu religion is no picnic - which just made me leave for ever and ever, I am happy to have things to choose from ...

Merry Christmas!
I love Resurrection Sunday. I've been at that old Cross where Jesus' blood washed my sins away. I am so thankful for His resurrection and especially for His death, burial and resurrection to save me. If He had not done this for me and you, we would be dead in sin and facing hell hereafter.

Christmas and Thanksgiving because of the family togetherness. I love it. I live in Germany and living so far from your family makes you appreciate the holidays and your family so much more.
