sulfuric acid = H2SO4
calcium hydroxide = Ca(OH)2
The first part of the base (calcium) combines with the last part of the acid (sulfate) to make the compound calciium sulfate
The hydrogen from the acid and the hydroxide (OH) from the base combine to make water. (And since there are two of each, you get 2 water molecules in the balanced equation)
acid + base = water + a salt (in this case, calcium sulfate)
H2SO4 + Ca(OH)2 = 2H2O + CaSO4
