Clockwise if you are in the northern hemisphere, and anti-clockwise if you are below the equator. At the equator the water will flow straight down, without spin. The magnetic moment(spin) at the equator is zero.

It depends on which way the holes are pointing under the rim where the water comes out after flushing. It has nothing to do with the equator, gravity, or which hemisphere you live in.

Counter clockwise - Northern Hemisphere (UK)

Why on earth do i know this!

Just checked and it does go counter clockwise. Haven't a clue if this is anything to do with which Hemisphere i'm in - i guess you are wondering about the Coriolis effect?
Of which you can find a bit about here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coriolis_effect

I wish this bloody question would go down the pan!

We've done it to death surely now?

The direction is random. Wherever you are.

By the way, the correct spelling you should have used was WHICH. The other spelling is an old hag on a broomstick.
