do not listen to the first person, female bettas can be kept together. just not two. you need either at least three or only one. two will cause them to fight. I should know, I have a tank with 8 females together and they don't fight one bit.
I doubt her swim bladder is ruptured, this really would have killed your fish because the air would have leaked out into her body pushing on her organs, often causing the stomach to pop out the mouth and other such pleasant things. considering it was few months ago I pretty sure that wasn't what happened. she is most likely bored. try putting her in a 5 gallon tank by herself with a filter and heater and some plants. and possibly a mystery snail (which is one of the kinds of snails that can't reproduce without having two snails, so you won't be over run). my females find my mystery snail fascinating.
or back into a community tank. she's probably really bored and cold.
I recommend getting a couple of plants (I prefer live) maybe like 4 or 5 and a filter and heater if you don't have them already for the 10gallon tank. then get two or three more female bettas (btw, these should be pet store bettas, because females are often raised together then separated right before the store) or from a breeder that says the females are okay together. then add the all the females together at once. they will pick at eachother for a while, but they're just figuring out who's boss. let them alone unless it looks as if there is going to be serious injury. in cases where you have to remove a feisty female or weak female it's best to have a "breeder net" which hangs on the side of the tank and allows the fish to be in the tank and able to see the others and be seen. this way the fish can sit in there for a while until everyone calms down. then try putting the female back in with the rest.

I don't know about the person that said female bettas can't be put together.. I have 2 betta Boy's of my own.. I always thought it was OK to put 2 girls together.. provided alot of plants for hiding spots etc..
Anyway, I would get some medicines for her fins so they don't get fungus/infections etc.. and keep her water frequently changed..
I use this site alot and it's VERY helpful, you should check it out and look at the betta care/health tabs and whatnot it's dedicated 110% to Betta's

No. I would suggest killing her. It is the humane thing to do. I had a female jack dempsey for about six years and she got swim bladder diesease. I found the most humane thing to do is to get a bowl of VERY cold water and fill it up with ice, lots of ice. As soon as the fish hits the water she will go into shock and wont feel anything. Hope this helps. If it makes you feel better do some reasearch on it...

relies upon on the way you feed the pea. yet I doubt that's the undertaking in any case. I easily have never considered something like it however the puffed pinecone shape of her scales make me ask your self whether that's something else. What length tank is she in? Filteration? protecting up on water adjustments and cleansing? got here upon this on line approximately bettas... Dropsy - it quite is between the main deadly illnesses to attack bettas; regrettably, its additionally between the main worry-unfastened. The jury remains out on precisely what motives it, and as a result what treatments it. there's a theory that that's a bacterial an infection of the kidneys, yet no one quite knows for specific. the properly-known counseled therapy is Tetracycline, yet it quite is so seldom thoroughly powerful as to be inconclusive. To extra complicate concerns, there seems to be various variances of dropsy. the main properly-time-honored (and the main frightening, IMO) is whilst the tummy of the fish swells up grotesquely, the scales protrude like a pinecone, and the fish won't be able to look to get out of the 'abdomen down' place, together with his hind-end raised. The bloating is brought about by utilising extra fluid interior the physique tissues, and is regularly glaring in all dropsy situations. on occasion the fish gets only mildly pineconed, and nonetheless die of dropsy. I had a girl act torpid, pass off her feed, and she or he wasn't improving...i could no longer decide what replaced into incorrect together with her. Then i spotted the tummy section replaced into looking relatively swollen and intensely diminished, so I appeared at her from above - voila. there replaced into the pineconing. by the way, this female died 2 days into therapy, and that i did no longer even comprehend she replaced into ineffective till an afternoon or so after that. The fluid brought about her to stay in an upright place together with her nostril to the floor, and if it wasn't for the certainty her eyes glazed over she appeared for each and each of the international precisely as she had whilst she first have been given ill. yet another exciting version of dropsy is whilst the fish seems general (or may well be relatively diminished), yet is off its feed and not appearing 'acceptable'. those will on occasion do the tummy-down-tail-up habit, yet heavily isn't swollen, and heavily isn't pineconed. this variety of dropsy is the main threatening! interior of 24 hours the fish is ineffective, and you do no longer even get a gamble to purpose to treatment it.

You need at least three females together. Oh and.... how big is the container they were in. Sometimes they fight if their isn't enough room.
