I have the same trouble.

Hormones suck.

Probably due to hormones. Prostaglandins are blamed for mild diarhea during periods and during a woman's last days of pregnancy, also blamed for cramps!
They may also cause constipation in some women. (this is temporary though and should be relieved by the end of the period)

It's all to do with fluid retention. Try and make sure you drink a bit more water and you shoouldnt have any more trouble.

maybe because your not relaxed enough to go?
try going at night after everyone went to bed, or when your home alone and the house is quiet, or try taking a book or something to do with you.
