The fact that a Maine Homeless Advocate Sued the state of Maine for its part in allowing cities & towns to MISREPRESENT Aid Laws, was Not carried by local state news.

Even the lack of coverage in the national news leads one to think the media seems to think the issue of Fair treatment for 25% of all America's is a non news item.

According to Brian J. Ostrom, in Examining the Work of State Courts, 1999-2000: A National Perspective from the Court Statistics Project 32 (2001), “In general civil cases resolved by trial, 4 percent involved a pro se defendant and 2 percent involved a pro se plaintiff. The largest number of pro se litigants were found in contract cases, where almost 9 percent of defendants were unrepresented.”

In order for Justice to Prevail, 100% of all people without lawyers must have cases decided upon the facts at trial. Not dismissed upon a technicality before trial. America can Cure Poverty, by treating all persons as idealized -respectfully.

As long as they have their justice...they are A-Okay with other people getting the shitty end of the stick.

Newpapers are funded by advertisement, IE businessess. Those businessess such as stores etc. pay minimum wage. The government has based minimum wage on a standard of living that does not include houseing, which over the last four decades has skyrocketed out of control You may want to look at DEMOS and Inequality Matters. Many news reports are stating that the number of underpaid people is constantly increasing, and by alarming rates. Recently a series on CNN featured the plight of the sinking middle class. Although people are getting paid less and receiving less benefits for the same work they were doing 20 years ago, we have been hoodwinked by a false sense of well-being or security also pushed by that same media. We must learn to think for ourselves, not take the lazy way out by listening only to 25 second sound-bites. I encourage everyone to R -E -A -D and find out for yourself. Print media and on line first person accounts of news are often more reliable for true understanding of what's really happening around the world and here in our own neck of the woods. Our free society is dependent on a free press!

We would need to change the concept of Society to mean a body of all ways of life, not a group of people who want to stand apart from the huddled masses. Until all people are treated with equal respect under the law, then we will always have poverty. Plus what benefits are offered to people to get off welfare? A minimum wage and the new need to pay for child care and other bills that must be paid. If a person of means makes more money they get tax breaks and the rest of us get stuck paying the bills...

The media are owned, for the most part, by the people who exploit the poor and cause poverty and homelessness: big corporations.

I suspect, because if one were to investigate the media and its offices and studios, that they have minimum wage people (with no benefits of any kind) emptying their trash, mopping their floors and washing thier windows. The media is a part of corporate America, don't kid yourself.
