Can anyone think of how? Let us all pay it forward even if in a small way. It's a start.

I get baked goods from a bakery outlet to feed animals. It's free for the hauling and gets thrown into a dumpster if no one takes it. Often it is good for a week or so after I get it. Sometimes it is new and they are getting rid of it just because they have too much of a certain item.

I asked once why they did not give it to a homeless shelter or something rather than just sending it to a landfill. They told me it was company policy to give it away to people to feed animals to save on disposal cost but it was strictly forbidden to give it away for human consumption.

I was stunned into silence. They would rather pay to have it hauled to a landfill rather than feed the hungry who could not afford to pay.

I feel that when corporate mentality comes this close to criminal negligence laws should be passed to prevent things like this from happening.

Love and blessings Don

YES it could be solved but some people do not want to make changes such as where they live to escape it. That is their choice so it is best left alone.

So much food is wasted everyday in our restaurants. We could feed the world but that too wouldn't work. We have sent food to these starving countries, only to have it taken by the bad guys.

I think there is probably enough food for everyone. Solving world hunger, not a chance. So long as the human race is locked in it's "What's in it for me" attitude, we will always have the poor, always the hungry, always the greedy, and always the rich. Solomon said it best. "It's all vanity"

yes there is enough food for everyone, but we don't spread it out enough. i just was involved in a program in my school where we donated money to an organization called Oxfam. have you heard of it? and today i am helping to feed the homeless at Rosie's Place. so if everyone just helps out a little, it will all work out.
i hope world hunger ends soon!

See Al Gore's movie "An Inconvient Truth." Twice as many people were born during Gore's lifetime than since the dawn of man. The growth is accelerating. You do the math.

First off....we should be starting in our own communities....we have a huge number of homelss and hungry right here in our own country......and people regularly pass these people by on the street. Our own people are totally ignored.

People like the statis of helping halfway around the globe why not help people struggling right where you are?

It doesnt get any easier than that.

I think the experts all agree that the problem is not a shortage of food per se and hasn't been for decades. It's a question of distribution and geopolitics.

I worked for a grocery store and now work for a restaurant.......you wouldn't BELIEVE how much food is wasted....it would feed a few hunger centers and more.....i asked why we don't donate anything to shelters and the answer was no one wants to get sued??? in case anyone gets sick???? The grocery stores are the worst for wasted food......it's perfectly fine except for the sale date (bread, bakery, chips. ect)

it's ashame...

It is not our job to solve the hunger problem, we have our own problems to deal with, people need to learn how fend for themselves, Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, give a man a fishing pole and he will eat for a life time. I say we need to educate people how to create food for themselves, grow your own food, hunt for your meat.

There will always be poor and there will always be greedy. As long as each exist there will be hunger.

We can do what we can, but it is up to the individual to be responsible.
