Nope. Self-love is the safest form of sex around. No STDs, no pregnancy, no performance anxiety, no waiting for the other person to be "in the mood".

Psychologically and Biologically, masturbation is not bad at all. It's only a means of releasing sexual tension, and it is very common for people to masturbate, especially teens and adolescents. However, masturbation, like sex, if addictive, may become a maladaptive behaviour. If you're masturbating very frequently and somehow can't get it off your mind, you might be addicted to it.
Morally however, masturbation is discouraged because it is supposed to be sacrilege, but I don't believe in that. It is a healthy way to relieve yourself. Some people consider it as a pastime, or a stress reliever even.
