Unfortunately, for most people, as their income increases so do their debts and/or their purchases. They end up no better off then they were before. For instance, my sister-in-law had a $60,000 home. Then her income went up so they sold that house and bought a $130,000 home. So, financially, she ended up right back in the same boat she started in. The key is to not allow your standard of living go up just because your income goes up....then you will have money.

Many people in the higher income brackets are living paycheck to paycheck just like lower income brackets. They may be able to put some away in untouchable savings plans for retirement, but generally the more you earn the more you spend. Many could be as close as the loss of 2 or 3 paychecks to losing their homes. Realize they have more expensive homes and higher mortgage payments.

The main thing is not to have money. To have money is the worst thing.

Money has no intrinsic value. It can create value by purchasing something valuable.

People who earn more spend their money on more valuable things, but they still don't have money. Because they spent it.

Earning more and keeping your standard of living low is like struggling hard (education, networking...) to get a higher paying job, for nothing.

I willl say: "You don't have money? Hummm. REALLY? Then I will tell your bank and to everybody that you are flat broke."

Maybe they don't have money because they need their thousands for paying their palaces, their luxury cars, their maids and other luxuries. What a foolish life.
