Most importantly read and understand the question, it's amazing how many people don't.
Plan your work, how many minutes per question.
Don't strugle on wasting time with one question. Leave it and go back if you have time at the end.
Work out where the easy marks are. A question worth 10 points should have 5 easy points, 3 achieveable marks, and 2 for the prize winners. Go for the achievable 8, leave the 2.

Lots of people get stressed taking tests. It's OK.
First, if you understand everything, then try to just work on recalling the info when you need it. Try sitting quietly and trying to remember what you've learned when you study, and refer to your notes if you need help.
Also, don't focus on what others are doing during the test... it's an unessescary source of anxiety. It doesn't matter whether they finish before you or not, so long as you finish. Just try to focus on what you are doing and if you really don't understand a question, skip it and move on (especially if its a multiple choice test).
If your teacher gives you partial credit for trying to answer written questions, then try to just write what you know even if you can't fully answer the question.
If you answer all the questions you know, then you can go back and work on the other ones you aren't sure about. Sometimes stuff on the test later helps you figure out stuff from earlier on the test. And if it's multiple choice, you can always guess.
Try asking your teacher for tips as well.

I don't think anyone can help you in this except yourself.
You have to look at what mistakes you made during tests. For example, there are a few types of mistakes a student can made when taking exams.
1. Don't understand
2. Can't remember.
3. Don't know how to apply
4. Careless mistakes.
Since you said you understand everything. I presume that you fall into the categories of 2,3,4. The website below has a lot of information on this. I'm too lazy to go and check.. sleeping time... tata

Reading and understanding both the instructions and test questions is crucial. Also be sure to work at a good pace. Sometimes you'll find the answers to questions as you work your way through the exam, look for these types of clues. Remember to use the process of elimination to. Go in with a positive attitude and do your best.

Eek..tests!
Some thing that helped me..and it helps with all classes I take/or have taken
I type up my notes at the end of the day. I save them onto a disk. That way I am typing and reinforcing it into my head what the professor talked about. Then at the end, right before the exam, I would print them out ..and read , read , read it over and over...bring it every where with me...
I also use to tape the classes with a tape recorder. I would listen to it in the car and in my walkman when exercising or walking. It was anotehr reinforcement
I also would use index cards. I would paste any diragrams onto them and label the parts. I then would quiz myself from them.
I also would review past tests/quizes that I got from the class..to help me better organize and prepare..the formats of that teachers exams.
I would go to any extra help sessions that the teacher would give, as well as form study groups with people in the class. It was nice to vent and talk about different things...sometimes you weren't the only one who didn't get it...then you all can go for extra help together.
I would read outloud and onto tape (if the text book has a tape option..buy it) listen to it at the car, getting ready for bed..etc.
most important thing...i use to do...was...eat a piece of chocolate 5 minutes before exam (helps brain to think)..and i would chew gum..and have a bottle of water....if possible..ask teacher if you can take the exam with the lights off...(if there is natural light)...less headache forming..can's stand the hmmm of the lights. some teachers will play relaxation music in the back ground if you request it....
good luck!

hi hon biology is a tough class it is one of the hardest I ever had to deal with and being a nurse for 16 years I did alot of it. What I did was bought a Walkman and some soothing cd's not ones to rock out to but not ones that make you tired either and i wore those headphones out it helped me to considerate and block out distracting noises dispite what they say about silence to study in my case it just isn't true in my experience. music helped me alot and for the tests studying is the best way to get the info you need. But if you can;t remember what your reading? you may need some special help on study patterns.
