The speed of sound in helium is faster than in air - your larynx controls the wavelength of the sound you make, so the wavelength of your voice stays the same. But, since the sound travels faster, it's produced with a higher frequency - so it has a higher pitch.

When the helium surrounds your vocal cords it allows them to vibrate faster since helium is less dense than air.
By the way, breathing helium can kill you - not recommended.

like 3 seconds, any longer your vocal chords shiit out and you cough them up for a little bit, get some towel before cuz yall be bleeding alot, then make way for the 2 minutes of breathing nothing and coughing violently cuz that silly helium blew up your lungs, so what i do is puke the lung bits out first then try to breathe really fast, you MIGHT get some air but probly more rib that air, probly
