Oh if you can, please tell why.
And if you also could, on what constitutional/legal grounds if any? (provided that you are serious about getting rid of them)

well considering the right-wingers are so far right anymore, that more moderate conservatives appear to be left-wingers, and are labeled at liberal by people who subscribe to the right-wing hysteria, it isn't a surprise that you are getting so many people saying the ACLU, the people who fight for our constitutional rights, without any reason behind it, other than opinion.
in one sentence they say fighting for the rights of everyone is criminal, but then say they suport everyone's rights. typical double-talkin right-wingers

As a conservative, I find the idea of any government burning a book horrible. While some books should be kept out of the hands of minors, the idea that the government could attempt to "burn" a book is against the right of freedom of speach.

As an individual, it is different. I can burn any book I own if I decide to for any reason. ie, I might find a dictionary subversive if it were to say that you could use imply and infer interchangably (or even implied it), however, no government has the right to do that.

The only organization that I might want to get rid of is PETA. They give animall rights groups a bad name.

Your mommy and daddy did a piss poor job! Books are our natural resource, I have read thousands of books (no kidding)
many of them were total crap but I wouldn't even burn 1 of them.
All books are part of our history, no matter how awful they may be.
As for the ACLU I don't believe it to be a law abiding organization so yes if I had the chance I would get rid of it. Maybe the U.N. too while I was at it.
Edit
as a test make up a real reason you might need the help of the ACLU call them. when they ask if you are white say yes whether it is true or not, see how willing they are to help protect your civil rights.

Well, I am conservative on some issues, but more liberal on education and environmental issues. That said, i would love to get rid of Greenpeace. There comes a time when an organization is so extreme that they do more harm to their cause than good, by the simple fact that they marginalize the issues they seek to support and alientate people who may be more willing to listen to the serious issues on a topic.

Of course, they are not always law-abiding, so if you want me to stick to your guidelines, I'll go with Major League Baseball. Tear down the whole league and rebuild it from scratch with a salary cap, revenue sharing, and all the things that have made the NFL grow in success. I don't blame the Yankees (though I am an Orioles fan) for taking advantage of a flawed system.

I am a sort of Conservative and I would not burn a book or abolish an organization, with the exception of organizations that promote and are actively involved in actions that cause harm to others, like NAMBLA or the KKK

True conservatives hold the Constitution very dear, and do not support ANY book burning or the abolishing of any organizations.

Generally, it's been the LIBERALS who support speech "codes" and the suppression of ideas that they disagree with. Look at all the liberal groups at universities who shout down conservative speakers, and who go around stealing all the campus newspapers when there's an article in it that they disagree with...

Actually it's the Liberals that have:
Banned books.
Tried to get judges to weaken the Constitution.
Tried to ban Christmas.
Tried to do away with the 2nd Amendment.
Banned the Bible and crosses in some areas.
Want to raise taxes to keep working people down and in "their place".
Conducted a purge against Christians.
Want Open Borders.
Want to install Socialism/Communism.
And are a real danger to our freedom.

Only a wacko, twisted, leftist goof could even have that thought!
The answer is...NONE! Libertarians and to a lesser extent conservatives Win the intellectual debate with those weak and limited ideologies every time. The only limits to that stupidity (question premise) and genius is...there is limits to genius.
