I grew up in a hotel ,and my bedroom was behind the darts board in the games room,This thud thud used to drive me mad ,Until a piece of foam rubber was placed between the wooden wall and the darts board .Peace at last.

Seem this many times- go to scrapyard and get an old motorbike or buy a mountain bike TYRE- the hole in the middle should be slightly smaller than the dartboard- then mount the dartboard on to the tyre

A backboard lined with felt would absorb some of the noise...but it will still make a little thud

Get some soundproofing that music studio's use to absorb the sound, try the local music store. It looks like a sponge kind of material.

place a cork board behind the dart board. that should eliminate all noises.
