Masceo, I'm sitting here banging away at this stupid computer. That shows that, at least, I'm surviving. Sometimes I wonder about my mentality though. My physical condition isn't too bad . I believe that I've done all the evolving that I'm ever going to do. Do you have any idea of how I might evolve just a little bit more before they shove me into the incinerator ?

Physically, there has been recent evolution among two human populations (one is Northern European) to retain the ability to digest lactose in milk. In infants and children, an *alpha*-galactosidase digests lactose to its component glucose and galactose. In adults, this enzyme activity is usually lost. Drinking milk then results in cramps, gas, and diarrhea. In a supermarket, you see blue cartons of Lactaid milk for sale, which has the lactose already digested.

For the future, humans are free to evolve larger brain sizes. Before recent history, the head of the baby had to fit through the birth canal, limiting the size of the newborn skull and brain. Now that Caesarean section is routinely available, brains can begin larger. Whether this means new structures or bigger existing structures is unknown. Also, whether this means new forms of intelligence, more of existing intelligence, or no difference is unknown.

We never were or are 'evolving'. Evolution is one of many false religions. It is based on belief and theories.
