If the shank is completely broken through and the box is squishy, generally your shoes need to be replaced. The shank is there to help support your foot and if it is broken (in other words shaky, wobbly.crunchy, moves around) it can't do that. The box protects your toes and if the end is squishy and you can feel the floor with your toes you might could strengthen it with jet glue or cryanoacetate (crazy glue) or future floor polish but if the shank is gone, you need to replace them for safety reasons. On your new pair once you have worn them a couple of times, shellac the bend on your shank to get a little more strenghth and use out of them. Or use jet glue on it. To make your pointe shoes last longer use more than one pair, letting the used pair dry out completely before using them again. stuff the box with paper when they have dried to help keep the shape and inspect and repair your shoes every time you are going to use them.

Sounds good, but feel if the shank is supporting you or not, and if your box is squishy, that means you need knew ones. Your box should not be squishy to dance in. Also, if your shank is seriously in two, you need to get another pair. But it does not sound bad to me except that squishy box part. The fabric coming off is fine.

yes they are broken in, but what scares me is that they box is squishy your box isn't supose to be squishy (your pads are). If the box is squishy that means that the wood is decaying or is wet and moldy (i know it sounds groos). One reason how it could of got squishy id becuase, if you leave your pads in them the sweat from your feet will cause the moisture to go through your pads and soke in the box. This is not good, also lots of girls have there piont shoes ripped up. my teacher always said that to look good on stage you sohuld look good from head to toe (that includes your piont shoes) i have this sorts glue or plastic stuff on mine and the fabric doesn't rip off but you can still feel the floor.

the shank shouldn't feel as if it was broken in two. that is what supports your foot. if it is broken in two, the shoe is still usable.
the box should be softer then the day you got them. you can work them even more softer with your hands.
the satin on the box is torn off? or is it just worn? either way, that shouldn't matter. if they were professonly fitted and your practicing right, then your good to go!
good luck and keep dancing!

well, there are lots of ways to break in pointe shoes but i will tell you the one i use. I put them on and walk around on demipointe for a while until it feels like i can roll though the shoes rather easily. Then I roll through the shoes a lot! I also plie over the top of my shoes and "press over" my shoes one at a time. If you having real problems with breaking them in maybe you ask your teacher if they have any techniques. Also, i don't like to really break my pointe shoes in that much, i just sort of start taking class with them. that way they can really form to your feet by you just using them. I hope i helped! email me if you need any other advice.

Yes it sounds like your shoes are broken in, but I think they are way too much broken in. You don't want your pointe shoes to be too soft or they might snap and you could break your ankle. You still need them to have a certain amount of stiffness to hold you up when you're dancing. I wouldn't dance in those shoes. They're too soft. Get a new pair or you might hurt yourself.

if u can feel the floor through those shoes, then get new ones right away.yes they are broken in, but if u can feel the floor then u can fall and hurt urself(trust me, u don't want to fall on ur ankle during pointe,it hurts, a lot!!!)
so if u can feel the floor then do urself a favor and get new

they sound broken in...if you dont care about the look of them i know that they sell this stuff that you can put at the toe to make it harder...its like glue....if the shank doesnt bother you i suggest just doing that. if not, get some new ones.
