Definitely.

In general, this is true of married men. To a man, his wife is his best friend. To her, he is just a friend (and husband). Her best friend is usually some woman, or sometimes even guy.

Nope--I have the same best friend since I was 10 years old. That is 41 years now.

As we have gotten older and married, jobs, responsibilities we don't get to "hang around" with each other as much. But we talk on the phone at least once a day--every day.

Since my divorce I have a bit more free time and bought a cabin not far from town. She has since bought one too--so in the summer we can hang around together on the weekends again. LOL

No, not really. I know where people are coming from and act accordingly.

It just takes time in this world in order to acquire enough information so that you can apply what you know wisely.

Other wise if you are not learning from life experience you will continue to make same mistake over and over again and think you are a victim of circumstance, which is impossible.

everyone has their own interpretation of what qualifies a "best" friend and usually it is different so I found out this summer. To me a best friend is honest with you even if they know what they have to say may upset you. My husband and my kids are my best friends because I know they won't lie to me; friends will so now I just have casual friends.

It was the other way around. I remember her introducing me to her mother (very excited) This is my best friend! And I remember thinking in that exact moment " Oh my freaking God I'm her best friend? I never did let her know this, we remained close in middle and high school :)

Remember you're your own best friend. So always be good yourself and don't let anyone in your life who treats you in a way that makes you question your integrity. But to answer your question. no I have never been in that situation.

I know a girl, the person that she thinks is her best friend isn't really even her friend at all. It's heartbreaking.
