i would have to say my favorite christmas song is..."it's the most wonderful time of the year" i love this song because i do believe it is, there is so much joy, laughter and happiness this time of the year, to see the excitement on kids faces to see santa and sit on his lap and give there christmas wish list, the multiple colored light displays people take so much time to put up...i love driving around and looking at all the light displays, and i love seeing the lights sparkle off the newly fallen snow....i don't know it's just this season of the year is filled with so much joy that it warms my heart through and through.....

I have always loved the "traditional" Christmas songs, but there ae two modern ones that stand out from the others for me because they are very, very, different.
"Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" is cute and funny, because of the silly puns, and because it shows a grownup believing in Santa, not just the kids ( "...You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and Granpa, WE BELIEVE!" ) There's also a cartoon made some years later, that showed that Grandma eventually got home safe and sound.
The whole point of it, I think, is to show that Christmas is a time to have fun, and enjoy the happiness of the season. A little humor never hurt anyone.
Then there's George Michael's "Last Christmas." It's about being sad and lonely at Christmas time, and it's a reminder to me, that not everyone is happy at this time of year. This song reminds me to reach out to people who might be lonely or alone, and include them. Not necessarily an ex-boyfriend (or girlfriend) but maybe the little old lady down the street, who's children all live out of state, and aren't coming to visit this year. Or the young widow on the next block struggling to make ends meet and raise her kids alone. This song reminds me to reach out to those lonely people and give the gift of friendship.
And friendship is a gift that everyone loves to have returned. ;)

Mine is "Give Love On Christmas Day". It captures what Christmas should really be about. I made a video on my 360 page using the song. If you want, check it out:

Seger's "Little Drummer Boy".
Oh, I don't really have a reason, it's just one of those songs I need to hear at Christmas time.

mine favorite Christmas song is "Little Drummer Boy".When my children were growing up my youngest son would play his record player and this was his favorite song all year round. We would take it and hide it but he would throw a fit till he got it back.LOL

"City Sidewalks and Santa Baby" - City Sidewalks because this is how I would like the world to be all the time, not just during the season.
Santa Baby, because it fulfills fantasy of getting everything I want.

"The Nightingale" about a young girl who finds a bird with a broken wing and helps it. The song is beautiful. It just takes me to that spiritual place in my heart.
