When I lived in Evanston, Illinois, no liquor sales were allowed in the city. Did you know Prohibition started there? I'm not much of a drinker, but it was kind of strange to have to buy liquor in Chicago. It changed in the late 80's and has a liquor store now.

Yeah, my mom used to live in a dry county...they would go and buy like tons of liquor at one time so they wouldn't have to drive like an hour. That would suck!!

my late wife came from one. Carter County KY> but I went with brother in law several times to a bootlegger & got some. I owned a bar in Ohio at the time & usually took a cooler full with me. I was always welcome !!

no I can't say I have..
here you can buy beer and wine at the grocery stores
but not liquor
that stinks
and then they say do not drink and drive, hey they are FORCING you..

Nope. I dont know how i would survive being in a dry country... maybe you could brew your own. My cousin makes alcohol.
