depending upon the state laws you will probably be able to transfer your license,my Calif.CDL transferred to a Nevada CDL but heres the glitch...you will have to take the Haz-mat test again,if you have the endorsement,the rest really pretty much transfer straight across,I was able to keep my double/triples and tanker without testing again,just the hazmat needed to be redone.I would get these documents in order when going to the DMV to the state you are transferring to:birth-certificate,social security card,TSA letter(original)original license,that youll have to surrender and time.without these documents it makes it tough.Dont expect them to have a copy or access to your TSA info if this is applicable to you,take in your original copy

Back before truckers were required to have a cdl many of them held licenses from different states in order to hide tickets. Ever since the cdl law came into effect it's been illegal to have a license from more than one state. You must give up one to aquire the other.

Just as Dodge Man said, you only need the eye exam. People who have a license from another country many times are required to take the written exam or the driving exam when trying to get a license in the U.S.

a Class A CDL is a national licence,you are registered with the
national database in Washington DC,you don't have to retake the exam

no you wont need to retake the test i switched from North Carolina to Virginia and i didnt have to retake .

you can transfer it to another state,,you have to re-take the eye test ,but that was all i had to do,i transferred mine and didn't have any problems with doing it,,good luck,have a good x-mas.
