McGrath is far superior bowler, technically and tactically. He never errs. He is the best fast bowler of all times. One simple principle which he follows:
Ball to be kept near the off stump line and moving in and out, bouncing the odd ball. The batsmen are always kept guessing. Superb!
Mentally, he is very strong.
He knows he is a pure bowler and he does that on any surface. He is a captain's delight.

Both are equally good. Mcgrath is far better bowler than Pollock in terms of accuracy and playing mind games but Pollock covers it up with best bowling after Mcgrath, better batsman or should i say he is an all rounder and such a clean striker of the ball in the later stages plus knows the captaincy part, best captain of south Africa after Hansie Cronje
So you can see, one will prefer having Pollock in his side due to his multi-contribution in the field.

As a bowler McGrath is better but as an all-rounder Pollock definitely is more effective - both are great cricketers ...

Mc Grath is great then Pollock as he holds the record of most wickets by a fast bowler. However, as far as batting is concerned pollock is great as he is one of the best allrounder,

McGrath is greatest ossie bowler since Lillee, Lillee was greater, plus he could bat a bit. Which Pollock do you mean ? I assume you mean Sean, excellent bowler, but no McGrath.

i would say pollock is btr.though he has lesser wickets than mc, he is consistent, can bat well and is a better fielder.
actually every1 has a different opinion and u hv to decide 4 urself analysing the following things
pollock can bowl 10overs at a stretch mc cannot.
pollock is a better batsman than mc.
whereas
mc has more wickets than pollock.
