Forget about that crap. What do you want in life? Write down 10 things you want, I mean it. Write them down! Then write down all the reasons you want those 10 things.
Now you have your Whats and your Whys, what you need to do is figure out your Hows.
Read up on people who have the things you want in life and figure out what they did to get them. Look for people that have the things already and talk to them. Most people love to talk about how they got where they are and would jump at the chance to help a young person get there too.
People will always talk, it's called gossip, and it don't get any better once we 'grow up' believe me. If you want to be 'popalar' (it's popular dude), then I'd suggest you do some reading. Improve yourself, start with 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' by Dale Carnegie. It has been around since like 1937 or something but it still is the best book about dealing with other human beings I've ever read.
Good luck!

it does. I hated high school and it seemed like it would never end. make the best of it. And to those that tell you those are the best years of your life....give them the finger. The only good thing is you don't have many responsibilites, but let me tell you, there are years beyond high school that have been the best years for me and I am sure I have more to come.
You will find that some people will still act like they are in high school their entire lives, by talking about people and being popular or not. I find that sort of thing annoying and try to stay away from it. In time you learn to deal with it, I just politely say something like my personal motto, "live and let live" and those people know I could careless about idle gossip type stuff.
You will find that life will deal up much bigger things to worry about and you may find your best friend is the biggest dork you've ever met but that is what makes him/her the best person you know.

High school does end. The 20 year reunion will show many changes, such as the "nerds" being the ones who succeeded in life, while the jocks are typically overweight buffoons whose best years ended with graduation.
"Popular" won't count any more. Once we leave high school, get through college, and go on with our lives, we form our own support group, and the "in-group" from high school years has no power.

It should end after Highschool. I know some people that are prettier then me, but never think about popularity anymore. In the real world, my mothers the most popular person I know! Everywhere we go, she runs in too someone she knows.

Well, High School ends once you graduate. However their are people who still maintain the High School mentality, they continue to gossip, back stab and make others feel less important than they want to be.

I know a woman who's over 50 and still tells people her son is dating a cheerleader. I asked " She's 33 and STILL a cheerleader????!!!!!" Some people just stay stupid forever...

Yes, thankfully it does. I have found that in college everyone kinda does their own thing and popularity is not as important as being yourself. There is a lot more acceptance & diversity.
