Make up is supposed to even out your natural skin tone and enhance parts of your face that you like. If it's changing your skin tone, lighter or darker, then you should look for another shade.

You're about the same color I am. I had great luck wth Max Factor Lasting Performance #8 (Cool Bronze.) For foundations, it should always be the closest possible match. A light foundation with olive undertones that isn't too orange can be hard to find. My mother is much fairer than I am, and has the best luck with Bare Escentuals.
You look fine either way though :) very pretty

Make-up isn't supposed to make you look fairer or darker.
Basically, it is supposed to even out your skin - if you have blemishes, spots, scars or imperfections, it's smooths over them and creates a balenced look. It also prevents shine and gives the skin a smooth appearence.
You, like me, are very fair, and it can be hard to find a foundation and powder that matches the skin tone. Try using a very light shade, or, for the best results, visit a local make-up counter (try clarins or similar) and ask them to give you a make-up that will match your natural skin-tone. They should be able to help! :)

Makeup is not supposed to change your skin colour. Not at all. If it does, you are wearing the wrong colour. Good make up will even out your skin tone. You are a pretty girl and would probably be ok with a tinted moisturizer. All the best.

Foundation is not always a factor, I really like to dress my eyes up with brighter colors and a nice trace a dark liner, your skin is very fair try pinks and shears for a lip gloss, a little goes along ways when you are a blessed lady

Neither. It should enhance and even out your current skintone.
One tell tale sign you're wearing the wrong shade, if your face is a completely different color than your neck, as if you have on a mask, you might want to try another color.
Me, I have to blend 2 different colors to get my skin tone. So, you might want to try that.

it is spose to be the same color. Blush will make you look darker tho if you wear that. It brings color to the face. If you wanna look darker use some self tanner or go to the salon for a spray on tan.

It''s in the eyes of the beholder. I'd hope that make up accentuate your fine points, whatever they may be. The current fad, around the world, to look "fairer", or whiter, makes me a little sick.

I think I have seen that the natural look is back. So just try to make yourself even. Makeup is supposed take any uneven skin tone and make it all the same.

Your foundation shouldn't even look like you have makeup on. Your skin tone shouldn't change, you will only be covering blemishes or discolorations. Next time, try applying your makeup only where you need it and see if that makes a difference.
