Hi luke, this is an easy one my friend. Dab a clean soft cloth or kitchen towel/paper with unused petrol then gently apply to the gum - no elbow grease required, just a little patience.

If you can't easily get petrol out your tank or a spare/emergency filler - just buy, beg, borrow or steal some lighter fluid for petrol lighters.

No problemo.......

There is a great product called Goo Gone that takes sticky, crayon, wax, and anything else gooey off of nearly anything. You spray it on and wipe off the goo with a paper towel or old rag.

Another product I love is Un-Do. It makes the sticky stuff non-sticky for just a few seconds then it dries off and the thing is sticky again. This is made for making stickers for scrapbooking release then they can be replaced. If used for your use just wipe it away with a paper towel before it evaporates.

I don't know if these are safe for car paint, but I've used them on everything from fabric to toys, and lots of other things around my house and everything has been fine.

I remember buying a cheap little runner with "go-faster stripes" plastered all over it. To get rid of them , I used Ronson lighter fuel to soften the adhesive. The mass of sticky stripes seemed to come off without any trouble. I had to T-CUT the paintwork afterwards though. I done such a good home job that I had the car for 5 years after and sold it on for double the price I paid for it. Good luck.
